4. Zombieland (2009)
It is a horror comedy with a backdrop of the 21st century. The film shows that Zombies have taken control of the whole of America and only two men could survive the fatal zombie attack. One of the survivors is a young college student named Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) who wants to go to Ohio to check whether his family has survived the zombie attack.
Another one is Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) who is a boisterous, badass Zombie-hater and is headed to Florida. Both these guys cross paths with Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and her elder sister Wichita (Emma Stone).
The film is an effort by these four to find a spot that is zombie-free so that they could stay alive.
Performance Review
In the movie, Stone portrays the role of one of the very few survivors of the zombie attack. As Wichita, she comes across initially as the damsel in distress who wants the guys to help her right away. However, Wichita and her young sister are con gals who even attempt to steal car and weapons with a fake zombie bite.
In this movie, once again Emma Stone revealed that she is immensely talented as she plays the bitch Wichita with aplomb and also the soft-hearted elder-sister/guardian for her young sister. In this flick Stone makes you remember her performance as Jules in “Superbad.”
She is delightful, heartfelt and funny and reveals the subtle complexities of the role and its texture with complete charm without even for a moment betraying her character in the film.
