2. Fifty Shades Darker (2017)
Undeniably, this movie gave maximum popularity to Johnson as she worked really hard to make those erotic and intimate scenes with Jamie Dornan come alive on the screen. Keeping aside all the inhibitions, Dakota brought alive the character of Anastasia Steele on the screen and looked very much the part.
The story picks from the previous movie as Ana is now working as an assistant editor and accidentally comes across Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) at a photography exposition of her friend. During the dinner, Christian proposes a new alternative in front of Ana and they once again reignite their flame of love.
But the past of Grey, his former affair, sadistic nature and obscure side continues to haunt them.
Performance Review
The sly knowingness and subversive portrayal of Anastasia Steele impresses you as Dakota’s performance is deceptively great. Initially, the audience finds her act of shrinking irritating until slowly viewers come to know that her whispery and flushed routine is all a part of the character.
Johnson’s Ana is committed and is much smarter than she looks at the start of the film.
