1. Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
This is the first movie of the “Fifty Shades” franchise in which the audience met the wealthy egoistic Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, a student of literature for the first time. The love story starts when Ana goes as a replacement to her roommate Kate Kavanagh and comes in contact with Grey who is a highly intimidating man.
Ana is naïve and innocent and suddenly becomes aware of her sexuality and her desires for Grey and she just wants to be close to Grey. Incidentally, the boss too wants her badly but he has his own terms which makes Ana hesitant.
Performance Review
Although the chemistry between Johnson and Dornan received a lot of criticism, Dakota was appreciated as a versatile actress who could navigate the emotional ups and downs of the heroine fabulously. Even though she did not come across as a trained actress, she exuded an emotional transparency making it easier for the audience to connect with her character.
