Personal Shopper (2016)
In this movie once again, Stewart is playing the role of an assistant (Maureen Cartwright) to a big diva (Kyra). However, this time along she is in the lead and her character has a specific task of picking up expensive designer outfits for her owner. But the condition is that that she cannot try those dresses on herself.
Of course, the movie has lots of thrills but they are more of psychological types than the regular simple scares everyone is used to watching. It has given Kristen Stewart a chance to portray a character that is interesting as well as deep.
Maureen although hates her job as well as her employer, but due to her arrangements she has a lot of time on hand to carry out her hobby of getting in contact with the dead in the form of a medium. She was inspired by her brother to do this. He died in France, exactly at the same place where Maureen is currently living.
Things become nasty as Maureen starts receiving signs as well as text messages from the other side of the world and she becomes a target of malign ghosts.
Performance Review
Kristen Stewart manage to dig dipper into the character of Maureen and has effectively portrayed the strain of working as a servant, having to be always alert to fulfill the needs of famous and big people and simultaneously trying to explore her brother’s death and mourning his loss.
The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received wild reactions. However, all the critics agreed upon one thing that the performance by Stewart was mesmerizing and enticing indicating that she never fails to impress.
