This is the first movie of Anushka in which she had the privilege to work with the romantic superstar of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Directed and written by Aditya Chopra, the movie is about a middle-class man called Suri Sahani who wants to impress and win the love of his younger wife and hence loans a persona.
Anushka plays the character of Tani who is lonely and is looking for love and finds it in her dance partner who is her husband actually.
Performance Review
Anushka Sharma’s performance was greatly appreciated; especially her chemistry with SRK was thought to be pretty impressive. She looked quite comfortable and upright on the big screen and critics hailed her performance as flawless. She won the Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards for Best Female Debut for this flick.
